The Greek Section of ERSA was established in 1987, (as a direct section of RSAI), with the form of a scientific, non-profit Union. It aims to the actuation of regional science in Greece, inside an inter-disciplinary context.
Regional Science is an expanding field, oriented to the development of theory and analytical methods for urban and regional space. Urban and Regional Planning and Development approach a broad spectrum of traditional scientific fields, as they put up with socioeconomic phenomena and policy, having in common the spatial dimension. Thus, the Section aims to bring together scientists from different disciplines, seeking for interaction and exchange of knowledge and experience.
For this purpose, the Greek Section programs regular meetings for its members and plans several events, while it also participates in the events taking place by ERSA and RSAI.
